Tēnā koutou kātoa, I am Anna Hagan and I am the Acting Principal for Term 3 at Waituna West. I have the privilege of returning to Waituna West for Term 3 to support the dedicated staff and work alongside the wonderful students in their special rural setting.
Originally from Coastal Taranaki, where I grew up on a dairy farm under the watchful eye of Mount Taranaki. My rural upbringing has shaped my passion for education in a rural setting. I have lived and taught in the Manawatū and Rangitīkei communities for the last 25 years and it holds a special place for my family and I.
I live close to Waituna West school with my husband Gareth and our 2 daughters Jessica and Emily. On our lifestyle block we have a few pets to entertain us, 2 dogs, 4 goats, 1 donkey and a kunekune pig.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family, watching sport, playing netball and taking care of our forestry land. Often you will find me in our home garden. We have an orchard and a vegetable patch with a variety of produce that is enjoyed by family, friends and at times the students I teach.
