Kia Ora, My name is Kim Robertson and I am a teacher at Waituna West School. I teach akonga ranging from years 3 to 6. Most of my teaching to date had been at large town schools, however I have loved the change in pace, the atmosphere and the akonga at this wonderful rural school.
I spend most of my childhood growing up in Wairoa, Hawkes Bay. I studied Physical Education at the University of Otago before embarking on my OE for 9 years. On my return to New Zealand I completed the Graduate Diploma in Teaching at Massey University.
I am passionate about teaching math and the structured literacy approach to reading, writing and spelling. I also love science, art and anything hands on.
I live in Feilding with my partner, Kevin and two children Ella and Emma. We have no pets (much to the disappointment of my children). away from school I enjoy speding time with my children. They are both sport crazy, so we are always out and about watching sport.
I love gardening, sewing, roses and watching my favourite TV show, Travel Guides. In the future I would love to put my backpack on and travel again.
